gonna go sight my rifle in this week, well shoot it to make sure it hasn't been knocked off. Figured it was time to load up a few more 28ga shells and try them in the new semi. I had some trouble with my previous reloads, I had a double barrell that would eat anything, the semi is a little more finicky. I just couldn't get a good crimp on a full one ounce load, it would swirl or crush. I ordered some new magnum wads for the 28 they are supposed to take 7/8 or one ounce. they loaded a lot nicer and all but the winchester hulls had a nice crimp, the federals looked factory, while I had some low brass from BPI there generic hulls that crimped nice just had a bit of a swirl. The winchesters would only crimp maybe 1/2 to 3/4 or the way around and usually tear on the first star crimping stage.

gonna take the rest out in next day or two and run them through the semi to make sure I can trust them before I load up to many more, I did 20-25 with a full ounce load of #5, figure to use them to squirrell hunt in the next month or two if they feed good enough. put a red dot on the semi so I need to pattern it also to get it sighted in, hoping to try it with some #4 his spring for turkey. with the cold weather coming the heat from the stove downstairs felt pretty good and I have about 150 or so hulls to load if all goes well, guess that will take up one, maybe two days of winter, now have to find something to do for the rest of the cold weather.......
