Any Insulin Users?

I have a friend this in the hospital for 3 days now - ketoacidosis. She hasn't been taking her insulin and my guess that she can't afford the cost of $200/mo. I know, that sounds crazy. I've been looking into the low cost insulin brought about this year. As far as I can tell it's for older people (she is about 52) and income less than $56K. I haven't been able to find what the gov thinks older is. Also, my guess that her husband probably make less than $56K gross. Now the patient is on SS disability for having a permanent disability so gets some government check for that. I don't know if that counts toward the $56K or is that number for earned income only. Any input or pointing me to other info appreciated.
It's too late for me, save yourself.

This makes me so mad and sad. This is America dammit!!!!!
I know Joe. Not many work folks can't afford a new $200/mo expense these days.
Apparently she's not a illegal Latino, if she was the insulin would be free. 🤬

Senator Kennedy of LA introduced a bill to cap out of pocket cost of $35.00 per month for insulin across the nation. Having a son with type 1 diabetes for over 37 years I can say this is a great plan to save the costs associated with hospital stays and the added expense of extensive medical care for diabetics.
If she was an illegal she could get it free.....
Sad but true junkballer & bpost but she isn't. Maybe I should drive her to Mexico and let her sneak in.
70/30 insulin is $26.00 a vial. Novlin.
Insulin went from $700 to $52 with the last cost mandate.
