Jim, what a great informative article for me as i was a competitive rifle shooter quite a few years back. One of guys on our small bore team was my Vet, a Master Shooter and on the Cornell team while in school.
One of my old bosses at West Point was in charge of a sniper platoon in Nam. He was the "Master of The Sword" at West Point before retiring and became the Director of Planned Giving and Dir. of Development at the Assoc. of Graduates at West Point. He also competed in the Olympics in the Pentathlon and as i recall he won a bronze or came in fourth, I can't remember. His dad was a Four Star General. Would mention his name but not sure I am allowed.
He called me in his office one day and gave me some great financial advice and told me I better look out for my finances because no one else would. I invested quite a bit in Vanguard and bailed just before 2008. I owe so much to this man and would be living in poverty now were it not for him. ---------------------------------Ray
I read yesterday that it was a Snipex T-Rex 14.5x114mm. Could be another rifle, though. 921gr-1026gr bullet @ ~3300fps. Around 8 seconds of flight time at that distance.
Gunnut359, wow, that is a Humdinger. .50 BMG below in the White. ----------------Ray
pfffft. I can do that with my Ruger 10/22.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Is it worls clas?
WOW
Sometimes you just get lucky.
Amazing
well I might have with my 10-22 but earl got kicked off the forum and I lost contact 😁
amazing shot congrats sure would make any one a bit nervous on the battle field knowing 2 miles away maybe a bullet with your name is on it
the fellow never knew what happened his buddies I am sure did as they were wiping off his remains from their clothing.
