I have a Ruger Bearcat 22 cal pistol that was my grandfather's gun. It has never been fired that I can tell, it is still in its original box with papers. The first four letters in the serial number are A100. I wanted to know the year it was made and its approximate value. Thank you for any info you can provide.

Look under Ruger dates of manufacture “ in your browser and go from there.
Thank you for the link. I believe my gun was made the first year the bearcat was introduced in 1958 according to the serial number it has starting with 1

In most cases, it's best to give the complete serial number when asking questions about a specific gun.

For I think $10, You can send the Serial # to Ruger and they will send you a certificate on the firearm.
Date of manufacture, where it was sent when new.
