When I was a kid my idiot brother collected cats. When the got to 19 cats, my Dad told him to pick one and the rest are going to the animal shelter. So we rounded them all up and put them in a big box loaded up the car and he left for the pound. It was about a 30 minute drive, but he came home about 5 minutes later.

I knew exactly what he had done, but I kept it to myself. I'm sure some farmer had more mousers than he could ever need.

That reminds me of one of my wifes uncles

About 40 yrs ago we were visiting some of her family that moved to Georgia

They told us be careful in the mountains as packs of wild dogs were in the area and not sure how so many had come to be

A few days later we went for a ride with him showing us the area

he points and said right over there is where I let old blue go (as in tossed out)

I had to just grin after him talking about the wild dogs and not knowing where they all came from

When I got out of the Army................an old retired TAC Sgt and his wife lived across the street from my mom. They had an unexpected litter and I got a dark calico from them............6 weeks old.

Man.........I loved that cat...........she loved me back for about 7 years..............used to come when I called her and would sleep on my chest on the sofa. She was indoor/ outdoor...............one day she didn't come home. That was about 1998. Haven't had another pet since.
