.308 win to .30 br ?

What do you have to do to convert a Remington 700 in .308 win to a 30 br. ? I assume cut some threads off the barrel & rechamber ? Thanks

    SWAG: single shot-probably just the barrel---mag fed maybe need a different follower and a 'block' to keep the cartridges from shifting around in the .308 length magazine.

    I would cut ALL the threads off and then rethread and rechamber............but the question is WHY?. the barrel won't shoot any better

    All good comments above, but if you did it consider cost;

    If the person doing the work doesn't have the chamber reamer, then figure around $190 to order a good one. Then it means pulling the barrel, setting it back around 3/4", and rethreading it. Next re-chambering and headspacing. The last consideration is the stock inletting now has a large gap near the shoulder area because of the barrel set back, so figure on at a very minimum of re-bedding the chamber and shoulder area. Getting into some serious $$
