Grip ID

dfletcherdfletcher Member Posts: 8,173 ✭✭✭

Recently picked up a Colt Shooting Master in 38 Special. Price was right and I have an extra set of 1st gen target grips - fully checkered with silver medallion. May not be quite right for this gun, but I have to put them on something, yes? ;)

The grips it came with caught my attention - yes, the grip frame is clipped.

Any suggestions? When I mentioned possible Fuzzy Farrant to the seller I got a blank stare, and I kind of figure "what are the odds?" and that they're a bit rough. OTOH, does someone clip the frame and cobble together their own version? I guess Bubba has done worse.

You might have answered an old question I've had. I came across a modified "target" S&W mdl. 15 that had the front corner of the grip frame cut off. It looks like it might have been done so a similar set of grips would fit. Since this removed part of the serial #, I wiped my prints and walked away.
