I have a Remington xp 100r, the repeater version. in 260 Remington and I would like to start deer hunting with it. My question is what is the best way to attach a sling? It has one sling stud on the front and I know that I could add another to the bottom of the pistol grip but I would like to keep this all original as they have become a little pricey. Any ideas?

I have seen a loop type sling that slides over the buttstock, and I guess you could put a clip on the front/top of it for the stud on front.
I have used a slip style shotgun sling one mine. The front part goes on the stud as a standard swivel. The loop goes around the wrist area.
