Watching the Addams TV show

yoshmysteryoshmyster Member Posts: 21,858 ✭✭✭✭

Wanted to start the year with the Addams and keep the joy. So I'm thinking about if I were an Addams what would my name be and which side of the family. Would I be from Gomez's or Mortichia's side? Also, I'm wondering if Morticia is a Jew? She says "bubela" so German Jew, right?

We all know Gomez is Spanish from Castile and since there is no such creature as a Japo-Jew I would have to be from Gomez's side.

Just don't forget that Gomez goes totally nuts when Mortichia speaks French. Her maiden name was Frump, IMMIC and if you can find that name in any Jewish registry, I wish you luck. 😁

Yosh, just throw your razor away and in time you can become cousin to cousin IT. Pretty sure he is a cousin twice removed and then removed a few more times on the Addams side. err.....or was it Frump side? 😁

Yosh, perhaps Yiddish words were not common in your neighborhood, yet you knew "bubela." They are commonly used in many areas as well as on TV and in movies. It's funny how some get past the sensors. Lets see if "Shtuping" is allowed here. It was on NY PD Blue.

Is this the start of a thread to give Yiddish words & their definitions?

I watched this show back when it was originally broadcast, and liked it and the Munsters. I still get the two mixed up when I think about them.

I still enjoy the show I think now more than when I was a kid as its more adult related in some ways than the musters were who as kid were my favorite.

Carolin jones was a handsome lady . I read they had to sew her into the dress for the show as she could not walk only shuffle her feet a little

Will add Lilly Yvonne DeCarlo ? on the Munsters was also a striking lady eary on in her movies

and lurch was also the thing ( "hand that kept popping up

I liked they way Thay had a Dungun full of money and Gomez had a stock ticker machine in the living room and would announce I just made a million Opps just lost it ( had no idea what the machine was but after watching other shows I figured it out some what

one old memory as a teenager I let my hair grow from 15 to about 20 yrs old it was very long and very blond back then I never cut it my dad and lot of older guys called me cousin it for years

In season 1 before episode 10 Mortishia said something in French but Gomez didn't horn out. As for Frump that's from dad's side. We all know it's all about the female Jewish line that matter.

If I went all ''Cousin Itt" with my height (6'3") I'll just resemble a bigfoot.

Season 1 episode 20 when Cousin Itt was first shown the family armed up and didn't call the cops.

i watched a show about the Adam's family some years ago they said he made the "you rang "up and they kept it as part of the character

Like most old sho was hard to imagine any one else doing the parts

The movie did come close to the orginal tv show though better than some

John Kerry starred on that show, he was the butler.
