Just how long is it required for all of the info. collected when a gun is bought to be saved? And if the business that sold the gun goes out of business? Or is all this academic as I think the Feds. have all this when a sale is made?

FFL's must maintain the 4473 on their property for 20 years. If the FFL goes out of business, the 4473's must be forwarded to the ATF.
New law all 4473 must be retained per ag garland April 2022 even those prior to the law but they don't know if you canned the 20 year ones before new law came on board
Unless it has recently change the 4473 forms stay with FFL holder. Log book goes to ATF upon non renewal of FFL licsense.
Nobody said you have to turn over any records in any kind of orderly fashion......Ha Ha.
In 1994, I packed up all my records neatly in a box and sent them to the ATF in Dallas. A couple of weeks later, I received a call from ,God knows where, asking about a certain pistol I had sold. I informed the nice lady that I didn't have any idea who received that gun, they would have to search for that info for themselves. Actually, I DID know about that particular gun, I sold it to a close friend who didn't like it. He sold it at a gun show shortly after he got it.
who told ya that butch dog 3 ?? when your done they get everything logs and 4473s but can be mixe in a jumbled order🤣
