JOE, you probably do your best moderating when you’re schnockered! 😜😜
Haven't been schnockered since the boones farm days
It was Mad Dog 20/20 for me. Almost 60 years ago. Can’t do wine because of it. Now I just like my rum and Coke. Never enough to get schnockered though. Just for the taste!
Christian Bros is a nice for occasions.
Mule
I always have a bottle of blackberry brandy for a little treat.
If I'm doing wine I go with a Franzia Cardbordeau. Those 5 liter box wines are the best value out there. I prefer a sweet wine so I go with the Franzia Sangria.
My wife and daughter went to a wine tasting and bought a 750ml bottle of a sweet wine and paid NINETEEN DOLLARS for this bottle of wine. They asked me to taste it because this bottle of wine was SO good. I tasted it. It was good.
I put my 17 dollar per 5 liter box wine into another glass, turned my back and moved the two matching glasses around, than had them tell me which wine was which. They couldn't tell which was which. I couldn't tell either.
I could tell that I got 6+ times more wine for 2 dollars less total money.
My daughter told me I can take the pleasure out of almost anything.😁 I was so proud!!
Oh my, does that bring back memories. I never did drink brandy, but when I first hired out on the railroad I was working a switch engine for a couple years at night. This one conductor would bring a half pint of blackberry brandy every night at work during the winter, in the summer it was schnapps he drank. I can still hear him now saying to me, “want a nip of nops Johnny”. We use to switch a lot of cars and make up a lot trains by morning back then. Lol. Needless to say railroads have changed a lot since then.
I'm pretty sure they have to pee test nowadays.
@jimdeere Yes them days are definitely long gone. I retired in 2010 but the last 20 years before I retired on average got drug tested and breath tested 4 times a year. But there are a lot of stories that could be told though. Lol
Not too many swigs there Joe....
Or you will be singing .... Show me the way to go home !🙃
Had a two bourbons Friday night visiting the local pizza joint to see some friends, best to stick to my beer I guess, slept 2 hours longer and felt like crap all day Saturday...
I was always told by my pap that the better the booze the less of a head the next day. So i stick to my crown
waltermoe, my father-in-law was a brakeman on the Erie Lackawanna. Late in deer season a bottle of wine showed up from the missing. The fellas took some sand and polished up the back of a old shovel and laid a venison steak on it. Yes, seeing as how it was a railroad in the old days, there was plenty of coal for a fire under that shovel.-----------Ray
Finding I like that Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey. I just like sippin it for the flavor.
I didn't know it existed till I came home from working overseas in 2019.
I like it, too. A double shot to sip on while waiting for dinner is my way. Try keeping it in the freezer for a little different taste.
Alcohol dilates your blood vessels, so the myth about it keeping you warm has a nugget of truth in that it will keep your extremities warmer. But in doing so, it robs heat from your core, so the net effect is that booze lets you get colder.
There's a lot more truth in the old adage that if your feet are cold, put on a hat. You lose a lot of heat from your head.
