I turned 77 on the 8th. So just when does old enough to know better kick in?? Just wondering.

Your thoughts on this matter.
I have already proven that, at least in my case, old enough to know better is somewhere in the future.π
To be perfectly honest I'm thinking I'm not yet even close to that mythical day.
How about you??

I'm just a 68 year old kid if you find out please post it.
Also turning 77 in a few weeks. I think I passed the "know better" age somewhen, or it may just be that I've aged out on the ability to mess up.
You are a few years ahead of me but I understand completely. I find that the spirit is willing to still do stupid stuff but the flesh has become lazy enough to hold those desires in check.π Bob
I think you know better when that first candle burns out before you get the last one lit on the cake.........
Happy Birthday to you
Next birthday I will be 68 and I too need to know when the should know better stage will kick in. On the other hand, in my brides eyes, I still need adult supervision.
Yep, good luck with that! Happy Birthday!
Joe Biden is proof.
Never happens as long as you are some semblance of human.
I bust 80 this week...All I know is???????????
JIM...........
Just remember that with age there becomes a huge gulf between "knowing better" and "doing it anyway."
About 25! But your asking the wrong question!
Just like the song says...."old enough to know better, but still too dumb to care!"
Wonder when I will start caring?!
I may or may not have made up part of the lyrics. π
Just sayin'
80 last Sep. If I'm not making mistakes, I'm not trying to do anything.π
Old enough to know better, young enough not to care.
Happy Birthday sir..... If you made it this far, you should be fine the rest of the way !
Happy birthday wish you many more good ones to follow
Like most I have with a struggle realized what my mind thinks i can do and what my body is willing to put with, just don't match any more
I imagine it kicks in when you decide you wanna drive your own car instead of dealing with lights turning themselves on, lights and beepers telling you whether you can change lanes, backup cameras teaching you to cheat instead of use your mirrors, etc. This is probably about the same time you realize the 30-06, 270, 25-06, 45 auto, 45-70, and all that crowd were really all you needed all along and there really isn't as much need for a hip new cartridge in your collection every year.
If you don't harm anyone of hurt feelings who cares. At our age there is nobody left to hold your beer.
We always knew better but temptation over ruled it. No regrets.
I can barely remember wishing what I knew back then what I know now.
Now I just wish I knew what is so darn important about Thursdays. π
Happy Birthday dreher! At 77, you've come a long way and I wish you many more!
Yeah, I guess I don't know either.
Everyone keeps telling me it's time to 'slow down'. but I think I'm already at turtle speed.
A lot don't make it to 77. IMO live everyday like you don't know better.
Living like you DO know better is what gets you to 77. And beyond.
I'm lucky that I got my "You did WHAT?" years out of the way in my 20s and 30s. All the thrills I'll ever need are there in my rememberies. Quota filled.
I believe itβs better to just grow old and not grow up.
I'm not smart enough to know better.
Once you pass 70, the whole threat of "Life in Prison" does not really mean a lot.
To all the youngsters- never tease the old dog. He may still have one bite left.
I'm pretty helpless except for what's in my pocket.
The old saying about God didn't make all men equal but Sam Colt darn sure did!!π
At 77 life in prison don't mean squat!!
'dreher' - congrats on the 77 trips around the sun.
'Brookwood' - ""Now I just wish I knew what is so darn important about Thursdays. π""
I may be an old geezer - but I know that Thursday is when Kasey McKay - aka - Locust Fork puts the new items up on GunBroker auction side.
Best Regards - AQH
I don't know how to act my age I've never been this old before.
dreher, Happy birthday - I wish I was 77 again. I'm farther down the road than you. I'll let you know when I find out about the "know better" arrives.
