Diane and I were married 60 years ago today. Diane passed away a few days before Christmas in 2022. I miss giving her her yellow roses. We were married in the Post Chapel at West Point by an Army Chaplin who was a Major. Diane was the dean's secretary and i was Westy's driver.

Day after the wedding we had two feet of snow outside motel in Newburgh, NY. We were stranded for over a day and opted to go to the PX instead of going on our honeymoon to Florida. I think for less than $150 we set up housekeeping in our apartment and had enough food for a couple of weeks. No inflation back then. I even sold my NM Garand for less than $100 to help pay for honeymoon. Big mistake I guess. That rifle would go for about $4,000 today. On our 25th Anniversary we finally had our honeymoon and traveled across N. America and up the pipeline in Alaska.

Today, I took Willie Jr. to visit West Point. Bought donuts for all the Troops as I call them at the Association of Graduates, USMA. Sad that about 50% work from home now. I think they have put plans to expand building on hold now. Willie Jr. enjoyed kissing all the girls.

Worked with my old boss for 17 years. He was a chopper jockey in Nam and was General Haigs aide in Belgium. A few days before he died, I went to visit him and asked him if he went to visit the Troops. He told me "There can only be one Commander in Chief at the AOG. I would only get in the way. Ray keep on visiting the Troops. I would like that". --------------------------------Ray
