Is this normal? - FN-15 Rifle Blemish from Factory

DPWLHR01DPWLHR01 Member Posts: 18

I picked up a new FN-15. Nice sale online and I love FN products and quality. After unboxing I noticed some blemishes (small indents) on the upper receiver. See attached pictures. I wouldn't let this bother me if it were a $350 Palmetto AR (which in fact I have had several and have never encountered any blemishes). But this is a $1200 AR from FN, so I was surprised/disappointed to see this.

Am I crazy to be bothered?

Any idea what may have caused these marks? Getting bumped around at the factor during assembly?

Send them (FN) your pics.I looked at my FN 308 and it is smooth. It is not up to my standard if it was mine either. IMO

If you ain't happy then you'll never be happy with it. If this is at the shop I'd not accept it. If you done did the paperwork it's between you and FN.

Forging mark when the blank got stamped then when they threw it in the tumbler the media didn't remove the dings.

Toss it in the pickup bed with a load of tools and fencing material for a couple days. You'll never notice those little 'blems' again.
