Many years a go i liked going to gun auctions even then it always a bit crazy in prices then it got just outrageous

It was like the bidders were biding on the last seat of Noah's arc

Not surprised by any of these. In my gun safe - Spanish made Zephyr - SXS - double triggers - side lock - A&D forearm release - ejector - 20 gauge. Not in the Aya - Zabala Hermanos - Gerbi - category, but nice. Spanish made B. Castellani - O/U - double triggers - side lock - Greener cross-bolt lock up - ejector - 12 gauge. Marlin Model 90 - double triggers - O/U - snap-off forearm - extractor - 16 gauge. I had a Browning A-5 Sweet-16 but didn't like it as much as the Marlin Model 90 and a SXS 16 gauge I have, so it went to my nephew in north Georgia.

Them that Sweet 16's have went through the roof.

Auction near hear not long ago had 17 on the table, lined up in condition. cheapest went for a tad over 2500.00. Best one ended up for a bit over 3200.00.

Also had a Remington chrome 76, I quit bidding at 3,000.00. Final bid was 3100.00

I gave my 9 year old grandson a Stevens 200 rifle in 223 that he killed his first deer with this season. His dad used the same rifle to kill his first deer.I think the rifle was less than $300. when I bought it and I will just buy another, maybe a 308 this time. From what I understand the Stevens 200 is out of production, but it is the same rifle as an old Savage 110. I found 1 Stevens 200 for sale for $700+ and old Savage 110s are about the same price.Inflation caught up with affordable old hunting rifles.

@Grasshopper - here's one on the auction side that's somewhat more pricey:

@Butchdog3 - I have only seen one Remington nylon 76 lever action many years ago - and I have never seen a chrome one.
