A friend has a single shot shotgun marked HSB&CO 410-44 and was wondering if someone could tell me the time period it was made and most importantly would it be for the 2 inch or 2 1/2 inch shotshell as there are no markings as to shell length? Any info is always appreciated.

Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. was a hardware store in Chicago, ca.1855-1962. The shotgun was a hardware store branded piece made by a firearms manufacturer which was common practice for ages.
H & R, 1916-1921.
Yonson info appreciated and is their a relationship with hsb co and h&r and any idea of chamber length 2" or 2 1/2"
Google H & R 410-44 And there are a number of listings. Several say the chamber is 2 1/2".
Will do that and thanks. Terrill
