I was heading out yesterday and saw a couple robins in the yard. I was surprised to see them this early

Saw one here in Southern Michigan Thursday evening.
Maybe the groundhog was right?
There are Robin's year round in my corner of NC . Eastern coastal plain.
About a week ago saw about five Robbins in ornamental pear tree in my front yard. They sure make a mess in driveway with their white poop. Surprised that any minature pears left and that Robbins are so early.
Today pushing 50 degrees and sunny. Willie Jr. was wild in back yard. Running and racing. His first outdoor trip. Could not get him to come to me but tricked him into entering side door in garage. My other Willie would lay down when I hollered "Come" and wait for me to pick him up. -----------------------------------Ray
The Robin is our state bird here in Michigan. Some years ago, I remember reading that some wanted to change birds due to them not sticking around for our brutal winters.
Seems right after that I started seeing Robins still here around my place in the winter! Those birds must be up on their reading!! 😁
