HK 416 22lr Owners?

I have an HK 416 22LR pistol. I understand it has a threaded barrel but the thread protector isn't the knurled sleeve on my other firearms I have. It seems to have a protector that requires a face spanner wrench to remove. Is this correct and where can I find one? Thanks guys,
It's too late for me, save yourself.

Pliers and a rag. Usually they're not tight. If you actually want the flat piece of metal probably contact the manufacturer.
Is this what you need?
Or maybe this one!!??? Yikes!

LOL! Do they really think someone will pay that much?
This is what I have and think I'll just make a face spanner. The critical dimension is the pin c/c but I have a Bridgeport and can handle that.
Good idea to make a proper wrench. But some sheet rubber or pliable plastic and curved jaw pliers should work. Good luck.
Strap wrench
I got it off. shootuadeal, you were right it wasn't very tight. I was shocked to see that the short length of threaded barrel is a 8mm thread. What I removed wasn't just a cap but a 4" or so long shroud - actually a barrel extension. I think that this gun should never be fired without that extension or another extension to support that very thin wall of the 8mm thread. If nobody has this piece I guess I'll try the mfgr. Nothing is easy for jeff.
