Anyone out there that can recommend a gunsmith that does barrel stubbing?

just what is "barrel stubing"?
?? It looks like you cut an H&R barrel off just ahead of the receiver and lower block. Then bore out the chamber area (stub) & thread it internally. A new barrel is threaded to match & soldered into the stub. Then it can be chambered to a cartridge that's not offered commercially.
First I heard of it .
Considering the capabilities of modern machining, I'd seriously question the process.
When a major shotgun manufacturer like Beretta or Perazzi does it, they call it a "Monobloc." I think it is advanced DIY but I don't know about paying a gunsmith to do it.
I know your not building a double rifle but I suggest you read "Building Double Rifles On Shotgun Actions" by W. Ellis Brown. This book will answer all your questions. It is fascinating, to the point, and full of illustrations.
