Murder of crows in a plowed field yesterday. All took flight and made a half circle towards me.
As luck would have it one of the birds was an ‘albino’, my first ever seeing a crow albino.
As a kid the local Kiwanis Club had an annual ‘crow feed’ for the locals. They placed dynamite in trees where thousands of crows returned to roost each evening. Concussion = hundreds of crows to be harvested for breast meet with noodles ,,,,,,, as good as chicken and noodles.

Very interesting, both the method and recipe.

The Brits eat them unless the PETA idiots got to them. "4 & 20 blackbirds baked in a pie"
Zapping them with a 222 or 22-250 as they roost in trees at distance makes for a spectacular display of feathers going everywhere.
I've eaten a little crow in my life. Goes with being married.
Why do folks like to kill Crows by the dozen? I have a small group (murder) that visit me every day, they sit in the trees behind my house and call me till I take them some bread scraps out.
Interesting note; they take a piece of bread and fly to the bird bath where they dunk the bread in the water (to soften it I suppose) then eat it. When they are finished, they fly off and won't return till the next day (morning about 7:00 am sharp).

I can only presume you’re not a ‘peanut farmer’. 🤣 Or any farmer that raises grain.
When the plants are dug and the nuts are exposed to dry there are thousands of crows feeding on the nuts. Where I come from the farmers welcome any hunters. Crows can devastate an entire field if there’s no deterrent.
Ok, I get that. Not a peanut farmer but I do raise a bumper crop of wrinkles and gray hair.
Ditto that ,,,,,
We dynamited a roost on our pecan farm. The crows were eating thousands of pounds every year. They would peck a hole in more than they ate.
