Driving back from town today and caught a quick pic of this buck, dead in the ditch..... Nice looking animal, sorry it was wasted...

Around here the good ole boys would already have sawed those horns off.
He'll still feed others, even if it's ol buzzards. They gotta eat too.
I bet someone has by now......
Maybe he was just sleeping? 😁

Deer are almost as common around here as sparrows. By far the second most common roadkill topped only by cooons. Looking out my deck I can presently count 10. Worse is we have people feeding them so they all to often get hit.
You sound like Josey Wales, "buzzards gotta eat, same as worms."
We drove by it later in the afternoon....some one had turned it over and cut off the rack...
And so goes the circle of life.....
I could use those for knife handles. They would've been Gone In 60 Seconds (more or less) with cordless these days.
lot of this our way since no one hunts any more
I wonder what the vehicle that hit it looked like.

Deer just bounce right off those big semi bumpers.
I hit a doe back in January with my bus. Knocked her 10 feet up on the bank. That evening she was gone.
