Bought my neighbor a flag

My next door neighbor (that I really don't care for) is a grumpy old guy (near 90) in a wheelchair and a Navy Vet,
He had an American flag on a pole next to his driveway that looked like Freddy Kruger had shredded it, after looking at the flag for almost two months, I could no longer stand the sight of Old Glory looking like that so I bought a new 3x5 American flag (made in South Carolina from locally sourced materials) and took it to him. I was concerned that he may be insulted by the gesture but he was very grateful and I took his old flag down and ran up the new one. It's such a proud moment watching the new flag unfurl and dance in the wind.
I took his old flag the the American Legion for proper disposal.

Well done Bull!!
Well done!
My mom, aunt and uncle along with some friends of theirs had a flag retiring ceremony about a month ago during a cookout.
Properly folded, respected, and burned.............with honor.
Made me proud when she shared pics with me.
Very nice of you to do this for this gentleman.
Nothing better than seeing a new flag being raised and hearing the flutter & popping sound it makes in the wind and the metal snaps clanking against the pole, it seems when it all comes together it make the air fresher and cleaner. Bullshot, I don't care what they say about you on this site, you can be my neighbor anytime 😀
