I'm confused, what's this "leftover" bacon you speak of? Must be something along the lines of Bigfoot - heard about it but never seen it! Bob
Most Sunday mornings, my wife oven bakes a full pound. She freezes most of it so it's easy to pull out a couple slices at a time throughout the week.
There used to be a Big Z truckstop diner here where the menu just said "Breakfast". It came on two large platters. Four eggs, four pancakes, a mound of potatoes, and half a pound of bacon. For $5. Not many could finish it all.
If and it is rare if a couple pieces of bacon survive breakfast, they usually end up in a sandwich or on a salad at lunch time !!!! I think this has only happened once or twice in my lifetime !!! π
I'm so conservative, I won't eat left-overs.

That looks more like 10 pounds of bacon.
I have no clue how anyone ever has leftover bacon???
Makes excellent dog treats. Just donβt let the wife catch you passing the piece of bacon off as treats.
What is this leftover you speak of ?
@BobJudy, I bet you have been to or at least heard of Tonys I-75 Restaurant. It is in Birch Run. The bacon sandwich in the picture is a bit exaggerated, but not by much!
I would stop there with a couple buddies on our way home from attending gun shows down in the southern parts of the state every year. I always had to ask for a doggie bag when leaving that place!!

5 strips of bacon busted up 3 table spoons horse radish mixed with 8 oz of cream cheese on any type of toast or bagle is great.
My 20 pound Jack Russell will make short work of bacon, but he makes short work of anything to eat.
No such thing! never any left over, no matter how much is cooked will be eaten within the hour...
What is "left over" bacon? I've never heard of such a thing, I've heard "who the hell ate all the bacon"? but never "there's a lot of bacon left over". ππ
Yessir! First set of in-laws lived just south of there in Clio, so back in the day we pretty much hit all the restaurants in Frankenmuth and Birch Run. Some of the ones that I really liked, Dixie Daves for instance, are no longer around but there are still a lot of choices. Bob
No way is that a pound. Unless it's on a bagel with the dis three feet away from the hand to give it the look of a jumbo stack.
I wonder what a pound of bacon is going for these days? Been eating what I squirreled away when bacon was like $3.99 a pound on sale.
Yosh, 3.99 a pound! Must be years out of date
I've had problems keeping bacon from spoiling just by leaving it in the meat compartment of my fridge. Brand new, still in the never opened cryovak packaging from the store with expiration dates that go a month ahead. Have found it dripping with whitish slime when opened. Didn't smell bad, but still threw it away. I now freeze the stuff if it is going to sit more than a day or two!
That white slime is the salt and fats draining out of the meat account of itβs a processed meat. You can wash it off, but it will have less flavor. After I open a package of bacon I vacuum seal it with a Food Saver bag. Seems to keep for a long time that way.
