lotsa folks have never gotten the opportunity to witness these sounds and displays, I’ve been fortunate enough to visit the Leks mentioned in the following article and also visited several Leks in Wyoming between Kemmerer and Cokeville Wyoming.
Pretty awesome sight, they put on quite a show.

That must have been a sight to see.
I've seen a couple of those on the high desert in Eastern Oregon. It's quite impressive.
I had no idea what a lek was when I read the topic of this post. I was thinking something entirely different.
I would love to see a lek, now that I know what it is!!!!!😁
kind of like the prairie chicken that the wild ones vanished decades ago but they were around when I was a kid. The lek which I know nothing about looks impressive and would enjoy some hours observing the species. Thanks for the info.
Totally awesome, thanks Mule.
Years ago I watched a Ruffed Grouse drumming. A fox heard him to and rushed in and killed him while I watched.
Learn something new everyday . First I ever heard of this .
There are several good leks in eastern Colorado. Most are closely monitored by the DOW. Some offer tours during the mating season, which is right now.
Yup, lesser prairie chicken, and a couple of species of manakins in the neotropics.
