T/C Contender barrel swap

cootcoot Member Posts: 32

I have a 1997 T/C Contender pistol . I recently bought a 221 Fireball for it. I went to swap it today & it got stuck. I had to disassemble the pistol to get the barrel off. It appears the locking lugs afre different. Looking for help? Thank You

When the G2 Contender was introduced T/C stated that all parts including barrels were interchangeable. Unfortunately, that isn't always the case. Here is the link for their customer service: https://accessories.tcarms.com/customer-service/

Their phone # is at the bottom of their webpage and it might be worth giving them a call. Bob

As above they are supposed to -:

And you will get nothing from Thompson Center as far anything. I called maybe two years ago and got a person that stated there is nothing here but me and I probably won’t be here long. They went out of business of course with the buy out.
There is a Thompson Center forum but can’t remember the correct name but can be found on a search. They can tell you what to change.

I had an early Contender that I had two barrels for it. I sold it and the got another one I’m going to guess 20 years later. If I remember correctly, the early one had a split locking bolt and the later one had a one piece locking bolt. For some reason I remember I couldn’t swap the barrels, but if I changed the bolts around I could. Are the locking lugs on your barrels one piece or split? I never did understand why the bolts on the ones, the early ones I had had split bolts and the later one was one piece.
