Remington 582 firing pin doesn’t retract ,,,,,

After firing the rifle and working the bolt to chamber another round the rim of the cartridge catches on the protruding firing pin.
I think the model 580 had a return spring but the schematic for the 582 doesn’t show one.

Remington Field Service Manual has one schematic for 580/581/582 and there is a Firing Pin Return Spring, part number 91472.
Thank you, Sir ,,,,,, I’ve got 2 model 582’s belonging to a buddy, neither have return springs. And neither have a slot in the firing pin as shown in schematic. I did find one schematic without a spring, but can find it again. This gets more confusing the more I look.
The schematic from Numrich shows the spring, part #23A in the parts list.
On another forum there is mention of cleaning all the accumulated gunk out of the trigger assembly and this gets things functioning again.
Thanks ,,,,,,
Ah ha !!!
After numerous attempts to correct the problem and exhausting research, the problem is solved.
Those era 582’s didn’t have a damn firing pin return spring. ,,,,,,,, 😡
