The mowing has begun.....Larry is so happy

Larry loves riding his mower. He tries to act like he is "getting work done"…..but he will fight you rather than let you ride HIS mower. I think its like a big go cart of sorts for him. The first time this year that we mowed it was my daughter and her boyfriend. Larry looked so heartbroken, but he was still recovering from surgery. He is doing a lot better now and thinks he can do it. I think he needs to let our son do it…..but what do I know? Let that man say one word about how he shouldn't have done this to me…..I dare him.

And women say men don't understand…
Why did you do this to him though?
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
There's a special bond between a man and his mower, very much like the bond between a man and his dog but not nearly as deep. 😉
I haven’t really mowed in years. Only remember two times the wife and I ever had an argument, and it was over who was going to mow the yard. That woman LOVES to mow. I think she looks at it as a mobile sun tanning booth. Thank god she has never taken a liking to wanting to mow the fields with the big tractor.
Mowed for third time this year
Glad Larry likes it I know a lot of guys enjoy and take pride in it
As for me, it's always been a chore. I never liked it, but just a have to
We have two cub cadet riders seval push mowers and a 9n Ford tractor with a 3 pt mower makes its easy but not fun
i Just put on my radio headphones tune to a To local old rock music station and have at it
I bought a goat from Mr. P to mow my grass, but it only eats pizza.
mowing the grass ranks right up there with washing dishes……
guess that one wasn't perfect enough to keep…….
I do NOT like anyone using my mower either, except my wife. I hate mowing, but refuse to let anyone(other than my wife) use my mower, costs WAY too much for some inconsiderate person to tear it up.
Currently recovering from back surgery, so the wife gets to use the tractor and 8 ft mower for the rest of the acerage. She like the tractor now that she is comfortable with the controls.
Fingers crossed, she will love it and I can just service all the equipment and she can cut it all. 😁 Takes about 2 full days to cut it all.
Before surgery, I would listen to ear buds under my ear muffs and get it done, but it has NEVER been fun to me.
Many guys just love to mow the lawn….with a riding mower, of course. Give them a push mower and their wives and kids would be mowing the lawn from then on.
In 1981, my wife wanted to lease a house, rather than renting an apartment. I told her I'd get her a house AND a lawnmower.
The very BEST deal I ever made!!😉😇
edit: Full disclosure.......these days we pay to have our lawn mowed.🤫
I thoroughly enjoy mowing the grass. I mowed our 23 acres for 3 days this week. With all the rain we've had lately the grass was just getting out of control.
I do have the perfect lawn mower though.
Power steering, plenty of lighting, Air conditioning, Heater, rearview mirrors, Diesel engine, 6 foot wide Mower deck, Back blade, 4-wheel drive, Front end loader, rearview camera, adjustable seat, and plenty of safety switches.
Bought new w/trade in Kubota 2015 B2650
Love it but I'd probably cave in my septic tank driving over it. 😁
Just the mower deck weighs over 550 pounds.
Joe
I like my Kubota BX-2670 with 5 foot deck and a
NewHolland TS-75 with a fine tuned 8 foot bush hog for the big areas. Cuts like a finish mower.
