went to vote this morning........

only 2 other folks in the place. got my ballot and put it in the machine and went to vote, there were 5 pages in total, mostly local magistrates and other local offices, agriculture commisoner, and such. My BIG PET PEEVE!!!!!!!!!! almost a third of them were running unopposed, took me a long time to write in friends names on all the unopposed folks. then I went to finish up and get out of the stupid machine and it locked up, said error, cancel ballot.

I got one of the old folks over to see what I did wrong and he was as puzzled as I was, he tried to clear it, but it wouldn't take his password, so he called another fellow over who didn't do much better he finall just pulled out the paper slip from the machine and it cleared itself, then they weren't sure if my ballot would be any good, I joked to him it must have been the folks I voted for the machine didn't like, and he looked at me and said "no its these damn machines, we never had any trouble with the old pencil marked ballots, but they can't make anything simple anymore"

It took me another 15 minutes or so to redo my ballot with all the write ins, which I know won't be counted, but I HATE to see someone run unopposed. second time around it spit my paper out with all the right names/write ins so I guess my vote will be counted but who really knows????????
