Rust - AARGH!
It's my own damn fault and that makes it worse. I was in the basement today doing a little straightening and spring cleaning and noticed the table on my scroll saw was now a reddish brown hue. I used to use it quite often and after each use I would give the surface a quick rub down with paste wax. Evidently, the last time I used it a couple of years ago, I neglected to apply the wax. I keep the basement at about 60% humidity and evidently that is to high. It took a while to get it cleaned up and fortunately there aren't any pits so if I ever get the urge to use it again it should be ready.
This was my last project using the saw, but I don't know if my back can take bending over for the amount of time it takes to make all those cuts. Getting old sucks. Bob

Nicely done project/artwork you have there. Hope you can get your saw cleaned up well.
Thanks HPD, it was just a way to have a little fun using up the scraps of wood we all accumulate from other projects. The birch and walnut the box is made out of were around here so long, I don't even remember what the original projects were that generated the scraps. Judy sometimes wonders why I keep all these scraps, but I do sometimes put them to use. Of course, it may take me a decade or so. 😃
The saw should be good to go. The table smoothed out nicely and only has a few dark stains where I removed the rust. Bob
