Took Delivery Of New Motorcycle Yesterday And......
New machine that I have 2 official state documents stating that there is 1 (one) mile on the odometer.
I am sitting on the bike getting acclimated to the layout and give a WTF as to what is on the odometer as total miles, 69 miles !
At first I refuse to take delivery, when manager asserts that I own this bike and that is that ( I paid for and put bike in storage with them for the winter back in November 2023) .
They try to claim first that factory testing may put up to 50 miles on the bike, and then that I must have test driven it. I never rode that bike or any demo bike at that dealer ever !
I have had an excellent relationship with this outfit for over 20 years and management recently changed.
What would the best course of action be with this moving forward ?
I feel that I should be compensated for taking delivery of a demo bike.
Thanks all.

I think I'd ride the bike. The mileage difference is annoying, yes, but it's nothing more than that.

Obvious someone was riding it at the dealership I wil wager not uncommon for bikes or any vehicle for that matter
What to do i am lost if they will not work it out. Maybe call the manafacture the BBB
I would say getting a lawyer would just be a waste of money and time
Best of luck and let us know how it plays out
Pics of the bike, please! New motos deserve a showing!

I too would be upset that when the bike was placed in storage it only had 1 mile and then when I pick it up it has 69 miles. I wouldn't want anyone riding and putting miles on my machine when it is supposed to be in storage. Not good business at all. Dealer should compensate you for this but if he doesn't you probably have very little recourse other than never doing business with him and not recommending this dealership to anyone.
Just ride it like you stole it.
They're not called stealership for nothing.
About the same thing happened to me in April, 2004 with an ATV. Tax season was over and I went to buy my wife a Polaris about 100 miles from where I live. I looked at a blue one on the showroom floor (demo) and sent her a pic of it. She liked it so I asked if they had a new one in the warehouse. The salesman said they did and if I could give them a couple of hours, they would get it assembled. I went to lunch and came back. I paid them and they rolled it up in back of my truck. Got home and I was showing my wife the instrument panels and which buttons said what. Uh…..80 miles and 24 hours on it. I put it back in my truck and was in their parking lot the next morning when they opened up. I walked around inside for awhile and I know the salesman I had dealt with saw me but would not acknowledge that I was there. Finally, someone asked me if they could help me. I told them what was going on and they got the manager. He said the floor model was the only blue one they had, but if I wanted a camo one with some accessories on it, they would swap it out and give me a voucher to fill my truck up with gas nearby. I called my wife and she was okay with it. They took me to the warehouse and showed me a crated one and said, "here is your brand new one". I had to wait again, but they did right in the end.
I really don’t think you would gain much by getting an attorney. I would tell them, 3 full tanks of fuel and a bottle of tequila will cover it. As you would hate to have to tell your story on social media. Stormy Danials got $130,000 to not tell her story. lol
There is also the possibility that they could have damaged something while putting those miles on it. I am sure they drove it like they stole it. Could have caused damage that wont show for years. I would NOT be happy if I could prove they put that many miles on it. Its not like they out one or two miles on it moving it around the yard. Someone was joy riding andost likely hot dogging the thing. Not sure what if anything you can do anout it, but I imagine some ears would be burning! At the very least, that is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!
Giv'em bad feedback.😉
I'd be very mad. What can you do about it? I'm not sure.
You can't get the miles back. I sold mine last year because my balance wasn't natural. I had to concentrate on it. Bought the fastest 4wheeler I could find but it's not the same. Wish I was going with you.
Ride it————————-if it was a new Corvette with one mile then 69 ,might be piz=zed but go Easy Rider, go!!
Now I want a motorcycle. Thanks a lot you guys. As if I don't already spend enough on primers and powder.

I ordered and purchased a Colt Anaconda back in the day, a Custom Shop offering, from a local gun store that I'd dealt with a few times before. This was back during the waiting period era. When it came in, I paid and filled out the paperwork. I'm sure I saw it but maybe didn't examine it.
But when I picked it up, it had been shot. It was dirty. I mean dirty! The owner of the store anxiously tried to explain that Colt test fires, then marginally cleans the guns. But this was a hundred rounds of Bullseye reloads dirty. I was quite displeased but looked like not much recourse. So I took my "new" revolver home, cleaned it and never went back to that store. It hasn't been around for many years. Karma please?
It's had many hundreds more rounds through it, and cleaned many times. It only bothered me for a while, cause there's always the next disreputable person in the cue.
So I guess my advice is: Enjoy your motorcycle. Put a million miles on it & forget it.
An old boss I had would tell us, a happy customer tells one person; an unhappy customer tells nine. Tell waaay more than nine your tale.
How else were they going to drain the fuel? You should've taken a pic of the odo.
Now it's true you own the bike but not the miles they put on. I'd look around to see if they laid it down or left you any treads from them lighting them up.
I ordered a New HD CVO 2 years ago. Took 9 weeks for it to arrive at my dealership which was 3 hours away. I got a call on a Thursday that the truck had arrived with it and it would be ready Friday afternoon. I was there at noon time to take it home. My question is, why would you buy a new bike and have the dealership put it in storage for several months. If you are buying a new bike, why not just wait till you are ready to take it home and make the purchase then. All new Harleys are advertised as having 8 miles on them, however, mine showed 2.7 miles shipped from Milwaukee.
I’d move on.
Storage fee: 10 test ride miles per month.
As long as there’s no visible damage, start riding and enjoy…your anger/frustration will gradually subside.
