Been so wet here can't / haven't mowed the lawn in couple weeks. Thought I'd get some of it done today between rain showers.
Not going to happen. Woke up to 4-5 inches wet, heavy snow covering everything. Temp 37

JOE, just pray for more snow! That way you can’t see how badly your grass needs mowing.😜
.
We had just finished mowing a coupe days back as I was parking the mower the sky opened up and dumped more rain on us but we did get it done
Yep, rain forecast for the rest of the weekend, no mowing for me.
Did get it done last weekend. Mower was down for 2 weeks. Good thing I got the lower transmission belt replaced, went ahead and did the upper too. Needed a hand, had never done one before.
Wow that thing is on fire twice the speed than i can remember, . yard done in 1/2 the time. Brake is a bit touchy though.
We got back from our trip today……I was on the mower within an hour of arriving home….Rain expected so it was now or who knows when !!
Mowed around one of the barns today for almost and hour, saw a big rat snake moving away from where i was at. Stopped mowing as I was almost out of fuel, got a beer and sat down. About 10 minutes later it started to rain, got about 4 minutes hard rain then a few minutes of pea sized hail and then even harder rain for about 20 minutes, Then the sun was out again… gotta luv Texas weather…
Snow? Good grief it's almost June. Mid 80's here in scenic Indiana. 😏
Corn is waist high in the blackland / bottom land areas . long season beans are 6 to 8 inches tall. Winter wheat and rye is almost dry enough to harvest ,should be ready within the next 3 to 5 days . Temps in the high 80s this week.
Pulsarnc, I've grown soybeans but what are "long season beans"??
Where are you located that you are growing rye??
Folks around here plant two varieties of soybeans. What I called long season are p i should have termed early season beans . Later beans or what some folks call 90 day beans are planted in june after the small grains ,wheat and rye are harvested . I am in eastern coastal plains area of NC. About 80 to 90 miles inland from the coast. Rye and wheat are used as winter cover crops here .
