This has been the worst year for tornadoes in this area since we moved here.

Are you in Oklahoma. Seen on news yesterday that count was 91 this year.

Can add to that count since yesterday evening.

Adds new meaning to the term" living under a rock." (trying to live under a rock)

I agree seems like a lot more across the country and several have hit and done a lot of damage with in just miles of us

we own a old farmhouse I guess it would be classified as a basement but like a lot of old farm houses really just a unfinished stone wall room for storage water heater well pump but any way its a underground shelter if needed

my youngest son they do not have a basement and live close by they could make it here if given enough time

but a couple years ago he found a above ground shelter on the internet like a market place add it was about 50 miles from us and with a lot of help from his farm buddies for the truck to haul it on and a another friend who had access to a small crane to help unload and place it in his back yard

its basic a solid concrete building maybe 8x8 or 8x10 and 4" maybe 6" thick or a combination . I don't remember the details for sure

reinforced with rebar inside the concrete ) with a very heavy solid steel door and a small vent window opsite the door it weights 20k + pounds per the manufacture it just looks like a typical storage shed common oin back yards if you drive by and see it

We are in west central Ohio, close to the Indiana-Ohio border.
