Steve and I were friends for many years. He had a FFL and so did I, and we often worked together at gun shows and I helped out in his shop from time to time.
He went to the ER for a painful leg and it was found he had some blockages in his coronary arteries. So, he underwent quadruple bypass surgery, and never recovered. Heart was working OK, but everything else started going south. Lungs, kidneys, gall bladder and liver, all ganged up on him. He was barely conscious when I saw him a few days post-op, and did not look good, not like most people do after bypass surgery.
He'd have been better off, after the initial diagnosis, to have just gone home to wait for the heart attack. End result would have been the same with a lot less misery.
Dang. RIP Steven

Sorry for the loss of your friend nunn. Prayers for Steve.
Sorry to hear about that. But, that's one of the bad things about getting old; your friends die off. My mother lived to be 94 and the last 10 years she used to say that her friends were dying off a lot faster than she was making new ones.
Jake and I became friends in 1957. He was in a nursing home 3 years before passing. His brothers robbed him blind. We helped his sister pay for his funeral. I often remember the Far Side Cartoon where the two old dogs are sitting on the porch watching the mail cat delivering mail. One ol' dog says to the other "Guess we're gittin' old Jake." Growing old is not for sissies.
My sincere condolences for the loss of your friend David. May he RIP
My condolences to you and his family
