I have enjoyed his writing for many, many years. I hope wherever he goes he ends up with all new bullet casting equipment and all new bullet molds!! Not to mention a few different SAA revolvers!!
RIP sir…..
I enjoyed reading many of his articles over the years…
Oh no, very sad day for many readers.
Rest in peace Duke, hope that you find that next great gun that has eluded you.
Mike had many of the same tastes in firearms as I. Milsurps, black powder cartridge (BPCR) rifles, six guns, & genuine wood and steel. He competed & ushered in BPCR shooting. His articles on shooting old firearms and their reloading was classic. He was probably the greatest influencer ever on the fine art of bullet casting.
Always read his stuff first. It was not for his articles, I would have gave up most gun rags years ago. Thank goodness Taffin is still around. RIP Mike, you will be sorely missed
Very sad to hear this. He was actually from Mingo Co, Williamson WV. only four miles from where I live. I enjoyed his articles and knowledge and really enjoyed when I would read something that mentioned this area. I know that he mentioned Hatfield Sporting Goods, (out of business for several years), in Williamson in one of his articles.
Damn it, just damn it.
I was expecting this.
He was my favorite gun writer. R.I.P. Duke
Very sad news. Mike was such a wonderful writer.
Sorry to hear it. Reading his articles for years definitely had an impact on me getting into casting bullets and trying out black powder.
