Ruger Max-9

bullshotbullshot Member Posts: 14,679 ✭✭✭✭

I've been looking at a Ruger Max-9 and I really like the feel of it and the 12 round magazine.

Any of you guys have one or played with one? What do you think?

I had the opportunity to fire one recently… It did not have any issues FTF or FTE… Accurate enough for it's intended purpose. I did not care for the trigger. It seemed a little stiff to me.

    But that is just me

I need to try one. I have 7+1 Ruger LC9s Pro that has a fantastic light trigger pull and dovetailed sights. Ruger discontinued the LC9 and replaced it with the EC9 that has fixed non-replaceable sights. I like night sights on carry guns and wont buy an EC9s.

That leaves the Max 9 as a possible replacement.

I have both the LC9s and the Max9 with CT reddot on it , they are both ok , I know I carry the Lc9s more than the max9 ,, on my guns the LC9s has the better trigger , both triggers are on the long side but the Max9 is heavier and has a grity feel to it but it's only had maybe 200 rounds thru it so not even broke in yet, both guns have 0 failures or hangups

and I don't like the Crimson Trace reddot that came on the Max9, I may take it off and try something else or just go with the open sights

have to add that the slide is easier on the Max9
