One of my hens was having a come apart a couple of days ago. She was out by the road in a small thicket on the fence row.
Investigated and all I saw was a small gray body scurry away. I wasn't able to see head or tail so I had no idea what had her panties in a bunch.
Knowing I had rescued Shadow from that same area I set a varmint trap to see if there was another kitten on the loose.
Nope! Relocation commenced and he/she is now a few miles away by the creek that runs south of me.
Trap will be set again tonight to catch the others. Im sure there are more in the area.

Yep we have a few young ones I have ben relocating
I can't feed all our cats and skunks who have become cat budies and now have a litter of possums move in
I took one in the house a few nights ago to show the wife the ugly cats I have been catching
So far no traps but it gets old removing cats and skunks so i just catch them by hand
And i never been sprayed by a skunk releasing one out of a life trap lucky maybe but I think they are just happy to get out
I always put a towel over live trap that contains a skunk. Tense moments but never been hosed. Neighbor lady signs to them and so far she has never been sprayed. Possums get relocated, hicoons and such other vermin get relocated to a different permanent spot.
Speaking of Democrats out for a free ride, and meal these two were out by the shop cleaning up the cat food a couple hrs ago
Very young and curious,
the next couple nights they will be evicted I did not feel or want to mess with them tonight So they got a pass
but they be moved out
Should've been "IN" the creek while still in the cage. that way they don't bite or scratch you while getting it out of the cage.
I've never been bit ,scratched or sprayed while letting any thing go out of a live I just talk softly and point the cage it to the wide open space
Now granted I don't trap mountain lions or bears but the just the smaller critters found around here
And not long ago my "live trap " was just a 22 pistol, snd DRT
but geting older and trying to bemore like my wife live and let live we bought a few live traps about 10 yrd ago
But yes the old dispatch 22 method is still used on occasion
