All three gardens were hit, three humming bird feeders torn down and destroyed, flowers up rooted. I hate raccoons !! We usually speed around $400 every year on flowers and plants. Last year I think I had to send 11 raccoons on a head, looks like another year like last year coming up. I’ve got a motion censor door bell I put on a stool outside with food for bait, when the door bell rings I go out with the 12ga and #4 buck. Can’t wait until tonight to get pay back. Filthy asp raccoons!!!

Wow, they done ya some damage alright. Go get 'en!
I have to close the hen house door every night or they will come in and take a chicken right off the perch. Climb the fence on the way in, climb the fence on the way out with a chicken.

@Kevin_L I’m thinking more like coronal Kurt’s in the movie, Apocalypse Now.
@chris8X57 son in law has been having trouble with them getting his chickens real bad this year as well.
They thought you planted for them…
Go to Harbor Freight and get a couple of those driveway alert things.
He did, he just doesn't know it.
I do know this; tonight I will plant a deep fear in them when they come up around the house again.
I will set the motion detector up with a bowl of food, I plug the alarm into the socket in the bedroom, when it goes off I get up open the window and send them on ahead.
I think I’m more pizzed at myself for not being ready for them this year. Every year it’s a battle for the garden and flowers around here about this time of year.
Never had them go after the humming bird feeders like they did before. But like I said tonight I’ll be ready for them.
I thin them out by using couple of the large size Havahart live traps.
I use deer corn around the outside of the trap and inside. Using deer corn keeps kitty cats and small dogs, etc from going inside.
I pile brush on top and around the traps as Camo, Without brush they don't like to enter.
I also use a game camera and sometimes it takes awhile to get the older ones but they eventually get caught. Most Racoons will not go into a non-camo'ed live trap even with good stinky food inside.
You can really put a dent in their population using the Havaharts and you do not have to set up at night waiting on activity. You can get your revenge at your convenience.
Racoons are a lot like people, some are mean and some are laid back when in the live traps, but they all end up evaporated when they get around my house and deer feeders.
I use a HF driveway alert like @bullshot but leave the window open a little so they don't run when I open it. CB 22 longs don't wake up the bride. For Havaharts, I've found that mini marsh mellows work great followed up with a lead pill.
A couple of my cat food mochers
Wife says don't harm them
Cute yes ,destructive most certainly
Looks like they took a toll on your gardens
Frustrating and angered come to mind
They are cute little guys.
As I heard someone on here say before: being cute is their defense.
I've never had a problem enticing them into a trap. I use fish cat food as bait. They love it. They will also go in the trap for a large marshmallow.
I take them back to a spot in the backyard and give them a .32 caliber sleeping pill. Then within a day the vultures will come and have a feast, leaving only skeletal remains.

Worms got to eat, and buzzards to.
Can't have grapes or cherries here for the bastages. Dirt nap everyone possible.
Cats are not always happy to share their eats with uninvited guests.
😁
Ours do , They share with the skunks and possums eat side by side however raccoons not so much but will just back away far enought and let the raccoons eat I think they are more aggressive when eating will add , the skunks and possums I have not seen them eating together
All bluffs
I have picked up countless possums the young ones are more flexible and will use their tail more
I have been nipped, not bit a few times never broke the skin
My isues with possums when really scared they will release some poop and stinky odor to fend off what ever is a threat to them
But are just nature's garbage disposals only live about three years or so
I have sent many ro the promise land but now just relocate them
Keep their babies in a pouch like a kangaroo
Anything that ugly gotta be mean!
