We are expecting 7,000 - 8,000 Rainbow hippies to arrive within the next few days. The warnings are out, lock everything up and stay away from Antelope Lake, my favorite camping and fishing spot. The sheriffs and police chiefs of two counties have been on the radio telling us to beware. We are concerned about fires, they are in a dense dry area with 1,000s of cooking and camp fires. The USFS, BLM, CalFire and local departments are all standing by. There is a large vigilante group of local citizens at the main turnoff to the lake who are trying to discourage entrance to the lake. They were in the camps cutting a large 300 ft water hose pumping water from the lake into 3 foot lengths with machetes this morning and smashed the water pump. Also they have no toilet facilities. I see a major confrontation before this is over. It is a lot like Burning Man and it was a mess when they left.

To be accurate, the Rainbow family is not an LGBTQ group. They're just a bunch of Earth muffin types that have a big gathering somewhere every year, and leave that spot on Mother Earth in a complete mess.

NeoBlackDog is right. The word Rainbow has been taken over in the past ten years to mean transexual/gay etc.

This is not what the "Rainbow Tribes" means. These guys have been having this gathering for fifty years, every year in a different place in the woods. Rainbow to these guys just means, wild and crazy hippies. They had the gathering near here in the Blue Ridge Mountains twenty years ago and it was not well received by locals.
