I have been considering purchasing one of these in the future. I have read good reviews about them. I have yet to see or handle one in person. Anyone had the opportunity to handle or fire one ?
He Dog, did you mention you have one of these ?

I do have, couldn't resist since I carry a King in .357 most of the time. I like the feel, I have not had it out in the weeds yet. 10 rounds seems like a bonus, but I suspect it will not be as accurate as my Smith Victory semi-auto. But heck, it's a wheel gun.
4.25" seems hard to come by…. Let us know when you give it a spin.
After shooting the new Python & Anaconda, I am disappointed in the King Cobra 22 with 6" barrel: First, the trigger pull in both double & single action is not what I expected: 10-11 lbs. on my Timney trigger gage in DA & 5 to-5.5 lbs. in SA. Not near the smoothness I expected as with the Python and Anaconda. Did not like the rubber grips and replaced with target style.
Accuracy is very good, but on something that costs right at 1K or more, I find the trigger unacceptable.
I assume the trigger pull is a little heavy due to rimfire rounds being a more of a reliability issue ? But it does seem like those trigger pulls are heavy.
Have shot many K-22s, Rugers, and some of the older Colts 22 DA, good trigger pulls and they work. So IMHO, reliability is not always relative to trigger pull. Trigger pulls in general are subjective, to many but a calibrated trigger scale does not lie.
IMHO Considering this Colt costs around a grand, I would expect a halfway decent trigger. Colt got the trigger pulls right on the reintroduced Python & Anaconda triggers, seems they could have done the same on the Viper.
I agree with you, the trigger should be better given the trigger weights you cited. So it is heavy, but is it smooth or gritty etc..
And thanks for the information you have shared…
Bill, I can feel slight metal to metal grind when pulling the trigger. Going to put a couple hundred rounds thru it soon & hopefully, things will smooth out, if not my plans are to contact CZ to see what they recommend.
