Looks a little skinny to me. Been hearing something on our front porch late at night so I set one of my trail cams out and found out that there are TWO of them hanging around our place. I feel honored.

Cute indeed, but I wouldn't want them at the front door. Does look pretty skinny.
Young ones just learning the ropes of survival are the most vulnerable to failure to hunt/forage successfully, to predation, to being killed by conspecifics, and to disease or parasites, because of poor nutrition and reduced immunity. So, you have a couple of choices.
What choices are those?
To feed or not to feed.
Feed a distance away from the house?? What would be a good distance, is there such a thing?
I would guess it depends upon geography in town, on your farm and the species. With foxes if you have chicken's and such, wish them well, if you are in the burbs, at the edge of your property and don't feed prepared foods like canned or kibble. You might want to offer a little support, but you probably do not want another dependant or a pest. Don't ask how I know, long story starring raccoons.
Well, I certainly know about Raccoons, learned that lesson many mango seasons ago. The Foxes on the other hand, are welcome, we have waaaaaay too many squirrels that dig up anything that you plant "just because" so there is plenty for them to eat but after watching them a bit, I tend to agree that they just haven't fully developed their hunting skills. I put eggs out for them and I sneak them some raw ground beef and occasionally some raw chicken (my wife doesn't completely understand my compassion for animals and thinks that they will do just fine without me) although she is probably right, I just can't help but help (need it or not).
I guess I just love seeing the animals in my yard, I feel it's a blessing ………. like a beautiful sunrise.
No shame there bull. You're a good man.
Pretty little guys. I probably would supplement their diet too
Bull, I made a career taking care of reptiles, and a hobby of taking care of birds, mammels and even invertebrates. Good on you.
Looked out my front door window at 6:00 this morning and darned if there weren't three of the little boogers in the driveway, playing and tumbling around like puppies.
I'll have to put a couple of cameras out to see if I can catch them playing tonight.
We have a swing every few years…..we either have LOTS of rabbits or a few fox in the woods by our home.
I haven't heard the "screaming" fox calls for a while…..and there are rabbits everywhere right now.
It will eventually turn and I will not see bunnies, but that crazy yelling will happen and I'll know the fox have returned.
Same here. The fox tries to get the chickens but the rabbits get in my garden. Such is living in the country.
Somehow, a few years ago we wound up not having a dog. About 2 months after our doggie had died, we started seeing lots of rabbits. We had single rabbits, we had mommy rabbits with 3 baby rabbits. These bunnies had never seen a human, and didn't know that sometimes humans do bad things to rabbits. THey would come right up to the porch and eat a carrot from your hand.
Then, one day I saw a bobcat on our driveway. Had never seen a bobcat on our land before. Next day, rabbits started to disappear. In three weeks, the rabbits all were gone.
Mother Nature can be cruel, but, bobcats gotta eat, same as worms.
Don't feed the worms.
