The following link takes you to a page that shows you all the current wildfires. Towards the top right click the three layered squares and it will open up the "Layers" menu. Check off Current Incidents, Current Perimeters, Satellite MODIS, and Satellite VIRS. The last two will show you the hot spots in the fires.

The link takes you to the Montana DNRC but you can scroll around and see the fires all over the world.

    Check out Asia. You have to have the MODIS and VIRS boxes checked. It shows all the hot spots.

    A while back......I read that about 80% of wildfires are via ARSON!!🤯🤬

    Anyone else ever see this reported?

    'I read that about 80% of wildfires are via ARSON!!' I don't have a comment on that BUT;

    The summer I worked along the Arkansas River in Colorado, there were fires in several areas of SW Colorado and northern NM. The DNR/DF&G and other 'outdoorsy agencies' would gladly write tickets to anyone foolish enough to have even a small campfire outside the designated areas.

    The large areas of 'beetle kill' can turn even a small fire into a huge wildfire inferno.

    Did a little quick math this morning and in Eastern Oregon alone there are over 1,000,000 acres burned. That translates to over 1500 square miles.

    The good news, if there is some, is that many of the areas that burned were areas that needed a fire, grasslands that haven't been allowed to burn in decades. Historically those areas would have a fire go through pretty regularly and keep the brush down. The problem is that with the available fuels they burned hotter than they would have prior to when we started extinguishing every little fire that popped up.

    @chiefr Hard to believe that anything is scarier than Hillary & Pelosi, but you're right.

    I say, let's forget Kammalla. Call me old-fashioned, let's bring back an all-star from yesteryear, after all it is her turn.
