Headed North to Alaska this fine evening, only he was looking for gold and I’m headed a little farther north and east of White mountain to look for Black gold.
Always enjoyed my previous times working there, I’m sure I’ll enjoy the challenges of this project.
Wife’s pretty happy for me to be in North America versus North Africa.

Will make it shorter/easier to get home from there. 👍🏻
Know a supervisor with Baker who’s been up there a long time.
I know you are going to be there to work, but I hope you get to enjoy some of the beauty and interesting things to do there !
Alaska is on my bucket list….
From the title I was afraid you were headed to New Orleans!
Good luck!
Just stay safe brother. Oil field work ain't safe, and they got bears and mosquitos the size of helocopters. Big helocopters
Would love to see pictures in a follow up report,,,
Stay safe, Mule!
Good luck! Depending upon where your looking, I pretty sure you will find it.

his initials wouldn’t be MM would they?
Beautiful….. Did you bring a bow with you !!! ?
Oh wow. Thanks for the added pictures.
no hunting inside the oil fields.
it’s rifle season anyway, saw lots of hunters being flown in and out of Deadhorse, success seemed pretty low, the big herd seemed to start migration a couple weeks early this year.
Such a cool place to visit, even if it is for work !! Do we need to ship you a rifle for weekend use ? 😁
Kidding of course…. I guess they sent you up there and expect you to work…
Great Photos and adventure thanks for sharing with us
When I was about 22 yrs old I was cutting firewood on a old guys farm ghat was logged out
Any way he had lived in Alaska many years told me as young fellow I should go it's a great place he loved it but at his age at the time he was settled in here in ohio
I think back and wish I had took his advice
Any way hope you enjoy your time
Great pictures mule!! I really think YAKS are COOL!
Interesting pics, thanks for sharing.
musk ox, saw two groups this trip, one near the Colville River and another group on east side of the Sag (Sagavanirktok) river near Deadhorse,
found one I missed, if you zoom in, In upper center left, it, you can see Deadhorse proper, and you see Deadhorse airport in relation to Prudhoe Bay, and Beaufort sea on the upper portion of photo. And that is TAPS (trans Alaska pipeline) running across lower part of photo.
just another scenic spot I’ve traveled to with a woman behind every tree.
In the 70s, I worked in a machine shop that made slide bearings for the pipeline. 1/8" of (golden) fiber reinforced Teflon laminated to steel sheets that allowed for thermal expansion/contraction. They also used 4' dia pot bearings that allowed the pipeline to both slide & pitch. I wonder if they're still in use & working.
Have a safe & great experience.
Darn! I should have known that but I'm no He dog. 😯😋
Wow, awesome pics Mule. Thanks so much for sharing.
