Yall…..every time this happens….I'm humbled.
Every time I start feeling a bit cocky….a little full of myself…like I'm THE stuff and nobody ain't got nothin' on me……somebody shows up with something I've never laid eyes on before and I'm totally in kindergarden again asking all the questions and looking like I don't know which way is up..
So…..any of you ever see a LINE GUN before???

Definitely a curio. Maybe for shooting a line from ship to ship?
Mossberg ,a company named Bridger and others ,including H&R all have built line throwing guns. Most chambered in 45-70 . The line holder is different from your gun .I suspect it was a one- off, for a unknown need
For the record Kasey, You ate the stuff, and you can tell 'em all I said it.
You're right,I've never seen one. Pretty cool.
Only ones I have ever seen and shot were Mossberg 500's. I have a nephew that is a search and rescue trainer.
I have heard on then, designed for use by ships, never seen one in person just online in an article and in movies which is probably fake, to scale a wall or something. Cool find Kasey.
All the ones I shot were 7.62 (M-1A / M-14)

He must throw fishing line with that lil Pee Wee. All the ones I have seen were either 45-70 or 557-450 Martini for ship to ship line casting.
