Bear claw necklace

Found a road kill bear and got the paws for making a claw necklace. He was pretty ripe, but well worth the effort. Also got the "bone". I will be busy for awhile.

We've got lots of bears here in the Smokey Mountains. I have come upon 2 road kill bears. I called DNR and they were very interested, both times they immediately sent out a crew and scooped up the dead bear. I thought that was a little weird, as road kill deer are a dime a dozen around here.
On the second bear, the Ranger told me it is illegal for civilians to cut off the paws of a deceased bear.
North Carolina General Statute 113‑294 (c1) states that "any person who unlawfully takes, possesses, transports, sells, possesses for sale, or buys any bear or bear part is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor," punishable by a fine of at least $2,000.
I think it is ridiculous that our government is so in charge of every little thing that ROAD KILL could get you in trouble…..so sad.
Of course, I understand that without rules there would be morons out there killing bears and saying it was road kill. I think they should allow the person that finds it to claim it, but they have to call the authorities to proove it is a legitimate road kill and not something more.

Bear parts are highly sought out for resale.
Paws and gallbladder fetch big money.
Possum cops will come to house and take all in this neck of the woods, clean out the freezers and most all else and have a public auction after they get what they want for themselves.. (if they hear about someone with a road kill and they were not notified to OK the recovery)
They will have their friends bid on your guns and the Possum cops and their buddies will be hunting with your artillery. They are saving the planet from bad guys, they think.
I wouldn't brag about it on Facebook either, Leo's monitor that site pretty heavely. If you have any doubt just ask your local prison population 😄.

I took pictures of the stinkin', bloated, decayed carcass before I cut the paws off. Only a democrat judge would convict me of this heinous crime—-and I buried the evidence where it will never be found. On the other hand, I have a bear tag and the season opens on the 17th. Should I just go back and tag him, making the entire situation legal? To be continued………
Sadly, I have to agree that some things are better left off all social media and this site is open to the public to read all post you just h have to be a member to post
I would not be surprised if you get a visit I hope you don't it would be silly to most of us itf it happens . But big brother we'll It's just the way of the country anymore
