Frustration

Small rant just to make me feel better lol

A couple weeks back I Replaced all the front suspension on my wifes honda element

all of it including lower controll arms ,struts ,springs, tie rods , ball joints and sway bar links , even the front drive shafts . not long after it was making a popping noise when driving . not good and mean looks from the wife Which is never good

I found the sway bar links were junk they had locked up and weren't moving freely so they would make a very loud pop as they moved

dang Chinese parts went brigabout a week after install

I don't recall if i bought on Amazon or rock auto, as bought them a few months ago geting ready for it and always keep such parts ahead

I have seen countless videos of many auto parts Failing or not even fitting, same right out of the boxes made in china and my turn came up

I changed them out yesterday with a set of moog with grease zirks on them I also had on hand should have used them to start with

lucky there not hard to change out and just over 20.00 for parts cost

but dang it a week in and went bad . one was locked solid the other side was close to being froze up also

I did show my wife the locked up parts so I would be in the clear and not take the blame for doing it wrong

Countless post on YouTube about junk pars from china not just car pars just about all replacement parts are any more made in China

just a truly sad fact it's roll the dice and hope for the best

send em back or get refund. you should be able to find where you ordered online. I would guess they have at least a year warranty. though it is not much money it is principle of situation, shouldn't have to pay for junk…..

Only about 130k, give or take it's a 2010 we bought new

i just wanted to stay ahead on maintenence, the only real problem was just the sway bar bushings and sway bar links were wearing out

All the rest was just staying ahead of any potential problems

As far as returning the bad parts The 20.00 is just not worth the effort. I know it's the easy way out but less headache for me .

Amazon - "These fit your truck." They didn't…and it took two months to get a credit.

You might get a refund from RockAuto but more likely it would cost more than $20/each to return the parts.

I returned some 'these don't fit right' JEEP parts to RockAuto several years back and the return went fine BUT these were $250+ parts that fit in a $10.95 priority mail box. Refund was a 'store credit' rather than a check.

They were Only 20.00 +/- for the pair

And like you posted shipping would eat most of that not counting time an effort on my part

    Just Not worth the effort

But I can't imagine even if local purchase trying to convince a parts store the pars were bad and not some old parts I was trying to cheat them on

Many years ago I met , he traded starters many times with a life time warranty on a chevy starter

he used the same vehicle he had listed it was bought for

And exchanged old junk yard or worn out starters under the same clame

Not Sure how it finely ended if he just stopped or the parts store just said no more

Sad some people will plY the game to it's limits
