Wish the Drill Instructors from M.P. school could see this,,,, we carried the 1911s back then.
If it makes it easier
That's what tools are for
When I got on the AR build kick about six years ago I bought several fixtures and special tools to make it easier after the first one I put together
Brand name?
Real Avid.
$12.99
The big river place on line
Or from Larry Potterfield
None listed on GB at this time.
I will be ordering one of those..
Take a look at the manufacturer web page. They have a great list of products. I want to get the AR 15 chamber tool/handle.
And here I thought you broke down and bought a Glock!
Oh lawd, the day that happens,,,
You'll sandpaper a bobcat's butt in a phone booth?
YES
I'd pay good money to watch that!
When I worked doing maintenance the boss had a bobcat in a large cage he built on side of his garage. When he was out of town it became my job to care for and feed the cat. That thing was huge, hungry, and not so friendly.
This cat had the head of a hippo, jaws of a crocodile, claws of a grizzly, and legs of a buffalo. It's growl was worst than a hog eating galvanized steel, and hiss like a fleet of semi's releasing their air brakes all at the same time.
Looks like a useful tool, especially since no Glock is included.
My 1911 didn't come with a bushing. I think it might be broken.
Got a couple like that too. My kimber has a specialty tool of its own. The SIGs, not needed.
Send it, let me check it over for you
I have one of those tools. It works well for me.
Oh nice. Thanks for chiming in, good to know
I’ve had this one for years. Their great if your using a heavy pounded recoil spring. How ever seems I just use my finger 95% of the time account of I anymore just use the standard 16 pound spring. I have had 1911 with spring guides that used an open face spring plug, no way you could get the plug down without a spring plug wrench. Good investment to add to the tool box.
can you even find a phone booth now days?????????
RARE, I saw one the other day when I was going to change into my Superstud costume and that was it.
Ordered one myself, looks more functional than the one I have. Thanks Joe!
Rec'd the tool toady and gave it a try. I'm not as impressed with it as anticipation to use was set at.
It works. It does what it should. For me I find it clumsy to use. The spring cap on my gun is knurled and has definition. As the spring cap slides along the plastic of the tool it is scraping and chewing plastic. The tool is for take down only, so re-assembly is still the old fashioned way. Just not what I was hoping for. Will I use the tool? Probably not. YMMV
Oh darn, maybe I will send mine back, and tell'em you said too. That kind of lines up with my previous experience with Real Avid. Disappointing.
That's nifty but if you don't have a full guide rod why do you need it?
