I have a big one on my right wrist. Comes and goes normally, but lately, it has come back and stayed. It doesn’t hurt but looks like an alien is ready to pop out! It can be surgically removed or just poked with a needle and drained.
Anyone here had to deal with this?

get a big family bible and slam in down on it. Been doing that for years with mine.
The power of prayer?
Did that for years but it kept returning, surgery was the last resort after 2 decades of aggravation, should've did that to begin with. Doctor said it was a very tiny piece of overlooked shrapnel irritating the wrist joint.

Go get it taken care of
Yeah. I’m thinking surgery because the needle draining is not permanent. It can re-occur.

Former wife had one years ago on her wrist. They call them bible bumps, that is where the Bible came in account it was heavy and you were to smash the bump with it. But in reality they need to be removed surgically that way they can remove the roots that it grows from. I remember it really wasn’t that complicated, couple of stitches and coverd with bandage for a week to 10 days.
In the words of Dave Barry, Ganglion Cysts would be a great name for a rock band.
Just stop farting around with it. The surgery is outpatient. You'll have a bandage for a week & done forever. My wife had one.
As others have said, the cyst can be ruptured by a needle or the family bible method, but it will come back. I had the surgery in 1990 and I was sore for a few weeks it's never returned.
Now I'm wondering if that is what I have on my toe. Guess a call to the doc is on my to do list now. Haven't seen any docs in over five years except the ortho dude who sewed my stuff back in place. Dagnabit.
As long as they get all of the cyst wall during the removal it will never return.
Yes had one on my arm when I was about 8 years old. Still have the big ugly scar to prove it. I did not even notice it much until it burst.
I was in school and it was fall so we were all wearing long sleeve flannel shirts. By the time I noticed it my sleeve was pretty soaked in blood. Showed my shirt to teacher who just about passed out.
Way different in those days school nurse called my mother who had to call my father at work to pick me up at school and take me to the hospital with her.
Doctor gave me a local anesthesia and started cutting out the cyst. He had to cauterize blood vessels. I was looking at Dr. working and the nurse keep yelling at me not to look.
After that one never had another one.
I definitely would have looked too. You may never have that experience again.
