double barrel rib repair
bought an Ithaca flues model 20ga the other day, nice old shotgun made in 1926 from what i can determine. gun is in about 60 to 70 percent cond with a nice tight lockup. problem is for about the first 6 inches from the muzzle end, the barrels are loose (un soldered). i imagine this is an expensive repair to have done. i have watched multiple videos of people doing this, even Larry Potterfield, and i think i understand what it takes to do this repair. i weld, braze, and have worked in the electronics field for over 40 years soldering critical electronic circuitry. i realize that is not the same as this repair would be but the technique looks much the same. my questions are 1. has anyone here ever tried to do this. 2. does anyone know of a gunsmith that performs this type of work.

I think that would be an interesting project. But you should not use a flame to heat the area. That would affect the bluing on the barrels. Another way would be to use Epoxy or AccraGlass but the old solder should be cleaned off first to get a good bond.. Good luck.
