Brother sent this to me. Although Daddy didn't own this boat, it was his.

Wow, that's a lot of push on a lot of weight. Too cool.
Pushing barges is as hard as it gets. Takes an unbelievably steady hand.
Few could do that, takes amazing skill to control a monster like that.
That's just beyond cool, thanks for sharing that susie.
Susie, your Daddy is/was a truly skilled mariner. I consider tug Captains to be among the very best…..like elite pro athletes. And, that vessel is pushing some serious tonnage. Very impressive!
He loved his job. He was never a nine to fiver or the type to work inside. Although he was technically in the wheelhouse as the pilot he was on the big rivers and Great Lakes 30 days on and then 30 days off to farm, fish and hunt.
If you watch the tow boat as it nears the railroad bridge the pilot house lowers to clear it. It's on hydraulics. Truly amazing boats. Brother got a chance to tour it once after Daddy passed away.
Watched the video again and saw the pilot house lower. I never knew they could do that, but makes perfect sense. Very cool.
That is some serious horsepower, right there, I'll bet the brakes are not quite that powerful.
