I don't know when this went into effect, but we no longer have to pay out of pocket for new glasses. Exams have always been covered but I always had to pay for new glasses. Heck, you can even pick the frames you like. I got two pair and when I asked for the bill, I was told about the new policy. Secondly since I live 110 miles from the hospital they will mail them to me. BTW, this was at the Reno, Nv. facility. Semper Fi, Brothers.

Good news. Take care of our Vets.
I got a free pair a year ago. A lens fell out unnoticed at a restaurant and they sent me another pair no charge. Two pair is the free limit. I am fortunate to have two VA Hospitals in SE Michigan, 20 and 25 miles away.
Thanks, Joe Biden! Not.
My dad just got 2 really nice pairs of glasses from the VA. He's pleased as punch.

I received a very thorough eye exam along with a new pair of glasses about 3 years ago. Then, just recently after my annual physical had it all done again. New specs should come in the mail within the next couple weeks.
All done at no out of pocket costs for this very appreciative veteran!
